Tippy Integrates Branch to Launch End-to-End Tip Solution
Tippy, the digital tipping system for the service industry, is collaborating with workforce payments platform Branch to launch a one-stop solution for disbursing cashless tips, Tippy announced Wednesday (April 6).
The integrated tool promises to optimize the tipping experience from the customer to the service professional. Under the partnership, Tippy can distribute tips instantly through a branch digital wallet.
Tippy’s network is customized for business owners and staff and offers customer-facing tipping screens, short message service and QR codes designed to simplify tip disbursement and maximize tip results. Tippy said tips are increased by 23% on average.
The integration with Branch allows Tippy to reduce wait time for receiving tips by more than 96%, the companies said. As a result, workers can receive their funds in less than an hour when pooling and splitting gratuities or in seconds with direct tipping.
“Initially built by salon owners for the salon and spa space, Tippy has been quickly embraced by other industries accepting tips for meeting the evolving demands of businesses and their service professionals,” said Terry McKim, Tippy founder and chief innovation officer.
Now with Branch, he said, Tippy can bring a more dynamic tipping experience and new benefits to salon owners as well as restaurants, hotels, fitness, valet and pet care.
The contract with Stripe comes one month Branch closed on a $75 million Series C funding round.

The company said the money would be used to double its staff with remote positions across the United States; further its growth in the trucking, logistics, last-mile delivery and restaurant sectors; expand industries to include construction, hospitality and fitness; and provide additional cash flow benefits and tools to customers.
